“I would like to take this opportunity to commend your support and in-depth knowledge in relation to mentoring me while on clinical placement at your surgery.

I was very nervous in the beginning and unsure if my learning objectives would be achieved at The Practice.

But I can confidently say today that it was a very fruitful and productive placement from a professional and personal perspective. In my view I surpassed my learning objectives and I do hope that more nursing students would get an opportunity in general practice.

I should admit that at times the pace of learning was very fast and hectic, nonetheless it challenged me to prioritise and plan my activities in a better way.

This is one of the key aspects that I will surely remember for the rest of my nursing career.

I reserve special thanks to your GPN colleagues who constantly encouraged me and demonstrated to me good evidence-based nursing practice.

“I would like to emphasise how pleased I am at how the placement is going. I have arranged to run a tutorial for the registrar at the surgery to give her some insight into the role of the physiotherapist in falls prevention, I hope to also gain some knowledge into how GPs approach  managing fallers so that the experience can be a reciprocal learning opportunity. I believe this is a good example of MDT working and initiating appropriate relationships within a team.”
